Robert Memelink
Biografie
Robert obtained a master degree in Food Technology at the Agricultural University Wageningen, the Netherlands, and in Human Movement Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Until 2013, he worked as a researcher in the fields of sports nutrition and clinical nutrition at Nutricia Research, the Netherlands. In 2013 Robert joined the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) where he co-ordinated the PROBE study on behalf of the PROBE study consortium. In 2017, Robert received a PhD grant from the Dutch Research Council for his research on the preservation of muscle mass during weight loss in older adults with obesity and type 2 diabetes, next to his work as a teacher in nutrition & exercise at the AUAS. His PhD project is embedded in the Amsterdam Movement Sciences research institute at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and is conducted as a joint PhD together with the Frailty & Resilience in Ageing research department at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Robert is also a visiting lecturer in sports nutrition at the Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
