Mohammad Alturki

He is a PhD student with a background in pharmaceutical sciences, passionate about understanding the link between inflammation and muscle wasting in older adults. Drawing upon his knowledge of drug mechanisms and population health dynamics, he investigates how specific drugs with anti-inflammatory effects impact muscle mass and improve muscle performance in this population. By assessing changes in the immune system, including systemic inflammation and performance  parameters, he aims to elucidate the mechanisms behind these effects and develop evidence-based recommendations for promoting healthy aging from a holistic perspective. His research utilizes advanced techniques to evaluate the functional outcomes of these interventions, and has the potential to lead to improved quality of life for older adults especially who are unable to engage in exercise training protocols to counter chronic low-grade inflammatory profile.
