Rose Njemini
Biography
Dr. Rose Njemini is an accomplished lecturer and Vice-chair of the Research Master in Gerontological Sciences. At the core of her work is a relentless focus on stress proteins and immunosenescence. Dr. Njemini's quest is to unravel the enigmatic mechanisms of action and the profound biological significance of the heat shock proteins under conditions of stress and disease. She's deeply intrigued by how our bodies respond to the challenges of exercise stress and how the heat shock proteins play a pivotal role in shaping these responses. With over 25 years of experience in academic research laboratories, her expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques is second to none. Currently, as the Head of the Laboratory in the Department of Gerontology, she is transitioning from being a hands-on researcher to a mentor and coordinator for the next generation of scientists. Dr. Njemini passionately supervises and nurtures the research activities of her students, equipping them with the skills to succeed in the lab and conduct successful experiments.
