Mary Teke Efeti
Biography
Mary is a dedicated scholar with a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Buea, Cameroon. During her time at the University of Buea, Mary was able to identify genetic markers and factors which exposed individuals to the development of essential Hypertension. Currently, Mary started a Joint PhD at the department of Gerontology in Vrije Universiteit Brussels and the University of Buea under the Joint supervision of Prof. Rose Njemini (FRIA Research Group, VUB) and Prof. Stephen M. Ghogomu (MCBL-Biotech Unit, UB). Her current research is focused on investigating the prevalence and spread of Plasmodium falciparum single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) associated with resistance to Artemisinin based combination Therapy (ACT) in selected communities in Cameroon
