Jade Tambeur
Biography
Jade is a physiotherapist with a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy, with a specialization in neurological disorders. Throughout her academic journey and initial professional experiences, her interest has grown in the field of gerontology. Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate in gerontology, affiliated with the FRIA Research Group.
She is actively involved in the "ACTIVE-AGE@home" project—a home-based functional training program designed for community-dwelling frail older adults. In this project, the aim is to assess the (cost) effectiveness of the functional training program across three conditions: supervised by professionals, supervised by volunteers, and a control group. Beyond her role as a Ph.D. researcher, she will also be a professional trainer in this project.
Research interest/expertise:
- Goal-Oriented Care within physical activity programs for frail older adults.
- Motivational strategies and behavior change techniques: enhancing adherence and maintenance to physical activity programs for frail older adults.
- Exercise science, tailoring exercise programs for frail older adults.
