Biography
Beau started her PhD in Gerontology in November 2023, after receiving an FWO fundamental research fellowship. Her research focuses on the early detection of suicide risk in community-dwelling older adults, for which she will use both qualitative and quantitative methods. Beau works under supervision of promotor prof. dr. Ellen Gorus and copromotors prof. dr. Nico De Witte at the VUB and prof. dr. Gwendolyn Portzky at Ghent University.
She holds the following degrees: a Research Master's in Gerontological Sciences, a Master's in Policy Studies and a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts and Science. Prior to starting her PhD, she worked as a teaching assistant in the Gerontology department.
